I am Rachel,a creative, multifaceted Hoosier native. I graduated from Ball State University, where I received a BFA in Visual Communication (Graphic Design) and a minor in marketing from the Miller School of Business. The combination of the two link my love for working with people, problem solving, and being creative.
I love that design gives purpose to the audience and motivates them to want to do something. Whether it is to buy or take interest in a product, learn more information, or to visit a location. I wanted to be the person, behind the design, that effectively communicated that message and correctly motivated the viewer. I found a personal connection with design, and now is embedded in my daily thoughts and actions. Over the past three years I have gained experience through internships, a full-time design job, and extensive freelance work. This work encouraged me to follow my design and artistic instincts, helping me to grow stylistically and creatively. I have worked at not being predictable in my design work but keeping the same caliber of effort and detail. My style is versatile and can adapt to any project, assignment, or client. Alongside technical work, I have an open mind for new designs and trends, but I can also incorporate a personal flair to my work. I excel at illustrations and line work. I enjoy making color schemes and understanding color meaning and symbolism. I often take inspiration from retro designs and artists, such as the 60’s advertising campaigns and Andy Warhol. I am always interested in learning new things and growing as a designer, team member, and businessperson. |
