LOUIS SULLIVAN: Post Modern Architect Postcards
OVERVIEW + BACKGROUND Designed and crafted five postcards, as a promotional piece for a paper company. The theme had to be a Postmodern architect, I chose Louis Sullivan. Researched modern and post-modern architects. Basing the series of postcards off of five of Sullivan's most architectural achievements that are still functioning today.
As I created the design, decided upon the style, and curated the color scheme, I wanted to emulate the feel of the early 1900's, while matching Sullivan's "functional but ascetically pleasing" style. A post card is 'function AND fashion' to me. It is a piece of art, something beautiful to look at, but it also serves a purpose- a perfect parallel to a Louis Sullivan building.
